Invest in a cow

We know how important it is to do things the right way

Cow Group Scheme Policy

In South Africa, many people do not plan ahead for difficult times. Majority of South Africans are not financially stable or prepared when they are faced with the passing of a family member or loved one. Extensive research has been done on this matter and the main contributing factor to people not being prepared is because they do not have good financial management skills and practice a poor saving culture.

In most African cultures, when someone passes on, it is required that a cow be bought and sacrificed. This cultural requirement has brought about many disputes amongst family members during the mourning period, and people often resort to quick solutions such as buying chicken pieces and meat in place of the cow. Although people do have insurance policies, these policies do not cover the cost of buying a cow, and many people in their individual capacity can’t afford to buy or contribute towards buying a cow.

However, we at SetsMol offer this service to our customers, because we know how important it is to do things the right way. We also supply cows to Stockvels and wedding functions.

A group scheme aims to help:

  • People who do not earn much and cannot afford to take out money during times of death.

  • Alleviate the pressure of incurring potential debt. Family members don’t have to loan money to buy a cow.

The following value added service is available on request

  • Delivered alive

  • Slaughtered at the farm
